Accepting New Clients

Lillie Mayfield

Hi, I'm Lillie, a Master of Social Work candidate at the University of Tennessee and a
clinical intern under the supervision of Joe Mixon, LMFT.

Over the past decade, my work has centered on supporting children, families, and
people from a wide range of cultural backgrounds. I've served as a Peace Corps
volunteer in Indonesia, cared for two young children through the pandemic, supported
young adults in crisis as a wilderness therapy counselor in Pisgah National Forest, and
worked with refugee individuals and families as they adjusted to life in Knoxville. These
experiences have strengthened my belief in the inherent worth of every person and
deepened my genuine interest in the unique stories and life experiences we carry with
us.

As I continue developing my clinical style, I draw from a range of evidence-based,
trauma-informed, and person-centered approaches. I bring an open, flexible, and
collaborative style to counseling, shaping therapy around each client's needs, strengths,
identities, and goals.

I hope to offer clients a warm, nonjudgmental space where they feel genuinely heard
and supported. Together, we can explore the experiences, emotions, relationships, and
patterns influencing your life while identifying meaningful possibilities for healing and
change.

When I'm not working or studying, you might find me attempting DIY renovations on my
house, lollygagging around the mountains, or wrangling my three dogs. I'd love to
connect and see if I could be a good fit for your care.
