Teletherapy/ Telehealth

Telehealth is the distribution of health services, including therapy, via electronic and telecommunication technologies including phone calls, Zoom, and other video platforms. Teletherapy is specifically providing therapy services over the phone and/or online.

At Knox Therapy Center, we offer teletherapy services to allow for long-distance patient and clinician care contact, care, education, and intervention.

Why Teletherapy?

Teletherapy is confidential, accessible, and most research demonstrates that it is AS effective as in-person therapy. At KTC, we want to make therapy as easy for you as possible, which means offering services that you can access!

There are a ton of benefits to doing teletherapy, we will go over a few and you can decide if this option is a good fit for you.

Benefits include:

  • Greater access to care: We live in super busy world, which means it can be difficult to get into our office. Telehealth offers a convenient solution for humans who are unable to use traditional therapy due to scheduling, geographic distance, or transportation limitations.
  • More privacy/ less anxiety:People who choose teletherapy do not have to sit in busy waiting rooms but can seek treatment in the privacy of their own homes. For some, this alleviates privacy concerns and social anxiety related to being in unfamiliar areas around new people.
  • Better public health:The COVID-19 health crisis demonstrates that the ability to seek medical care at home can slow the spread of illness and protect vulnerable populations. Teletherapy allows people to get mental health treatment at home without risking the spread of infection during epidemics and pandemics.

All of our therapists are able to provide teletherapy!
